In October 2010, I was diagnosed w/ Stage IV Breast Cancer. When my Oncologist told me the news, I was in shock. At the age of 32, that was the last thing I expected to hear. When the initial shock wore off, I asked what I needed to do to start kickin' this cancer's ass! With the love and support of family and friends, I'm kickin' cancer's ass one day at a time!

Out of the Red
I had a 1 week follow up appt w/ the Nurse Prac this last Tuesday which included labs. I'll start by saying that my labs the week before showed that I was "in the red" on three particular markers or tests that are associated w/ my liver... the results were NOT in the normal/healthy range that I should be in. Which isn't surprising considering the recent lesion flare up and the CT Scan which confirmed that. WELL, after this last weeks labs I got a little tidbit of good news... 2 of those 3 "markers" (or whatever they're called) are back in the normal range. Woohooo!! Out of the red!! That's great news and I can only assume that my new chemo cocktail is working and getting me back on track!! YEAH!! Maybe it helps that I've been surrounding myself w/ such awesome friends and family over the last couple of weeks... Yep, I think I'm on to something!! And if I could recommend a little something... a good 'ol dance party! I tell ya, that will cure anything! Great friends, old school tunes and waking up to foot prints on the coffee table... GOOD TIMES!!

Thinking about you Casey! Did Bonnie tell you that Joe is getting maried on May 27! Finally. I was beginning to think that 10 years in San Francisco had taken its toll, if you know what I mean. We are all very excited and planning on hauling 20 or so family memberes to Frisco for the big event. I've rented a three bedroom house there for the whole Memorial Day weekend so we can host lots of parties, etc. Wish you guys could come out for the fandango. His fiance,Analisa, is a real peach. We are so happy to have her and her family join ours.
ReplyDeleteI am keeping you in my prayers, girl, so keep on trucking and watch for the blisssings!
Love, Dan Trott
